The PR Settings page is chock-full of customizable features, all aimed at maximizing PR collection for your practice. Work with your Account Manager to ensure these are initially set up to meet the needs of your organization, and feel free to adjust as you continue to work with Insights.Accessing PR Settings
There are many ways to access PR Settings in Insights. For this walkthrough, we’ll use the Patient View tab on the Patient Responsibility page itself. Click the ‘Actions’ menu and then choose ‘PR Settings.’

Relabel any Athelas card readers registered to your account here.
Receipt + Patient Statement Settings (Facility-Specific)
Change how receipts and statements from individual facilities appear to patients in this section. This is also where you can add and update a logo for a specific facility within your organization. These logos will appear on receipts and statements from those facilities.
Text Message Customization
Customize the way your texts appear to patients.

Patient Statement Settings
The Patient Statement Settings section here, in the General tab of PR Settings, allow you to modify basic information that appears on patient statements. To adjust settings on patient statements in greater detail, visit the Patient Statements page itself and view this guide.

High Balance Setting
Set the amount at which Insights labels balances as ‘high.’ They will appear in red in Insights. You can also turn on or off the Follow Up action items listed below:- Insurance Alert
- Alert front desk if patient’s last claim was denied due to invalid or expired insurance information.
- Credit Card Alert
- Alert front desk if last charge for patient’s payment plan and/or subscription has failed. Ask patient to update credit card info.
- Contact Info Alert
- Alert front desk if unable to deliver statements to patient due to invalid contact info.

Skip Collection
Add, edit, and delete acceptable reasons that staff can choose from when they skip collections here.
Custom Payment Types
Add, update, or deactivate custom payment types here.
Partial Payments, Payment Modal Settings, and Welcome Message
Adjust these three things in their corresponding sections. You can allow or disallow patients to make partial payments via text, for example. Note that you can turn the post-payment Welcome Message on or off from several places in Insights. Updating this option in one location will update it everywhere.
Pre Visit
This section allows you to set up defaults for the information you’d like to see and share prior to each appointment.
- Set which pre-visit payment suggestions you’d like to see, including deductible and coinsurance. The copay suggestion is required.
- Set pre-visit suggested payments mode. In other words, choose how you would like Athelas to translate eligibility results into pre-visit payment recommendations: show only the highest PR amount, or show all relevant PR amounts.
- Set up default charges by facility for copay, coinsurance, deductible, and self-pay.
- In the pre-visit payment suggestions section, you can choose whether to ignore, add, or only show tier 2 and 3 benefits.
- Set any default STCs you would like to apply to appointments in the Service Type Codes section.
- Choose whether to send a welcome message by default after the patient pays in this section. Note that this function is available in several places across Insights, and updating this setting in one location will update it in all other locations.
Credits
Here, you can set the number of days to elapse before patient credits are automatically released for general use. Credits resulting from patient overpayment are held in reserve by default, in case the claim is resubmitted in the future. Please specify the number of days you would like to wait after a claim is Approved before any associated credits are released to cover outstanding balances.
